Colour & Trends, Street Fashion

Denim1

As a ready to wear material, lighter blue denims and cottons were essential components of both androgynous blue collar looks and uber-girly frills—especially when it came to button-up work shirts, classic denim jackets and vests. Likewise footwear tapped denim both light and dark for everything from simple Keds-like sneakers to rugged unisex boots to feminine wedges. And for the frill factor, denim turned up in jewelry and hair accessories as fabric flowers and bows. READ MORE +

Street Fashion Tokyo: Over The Knee November 10

Legwear, Street Fashion

Over1

When the skirts are short, the legs (and, conveniently, legwear) get all the attention. Back to the Pack August 31

Colour & Trends, Handbags

Backpacks1

The days are getting shorter and cooler, which means it’s back to hitting the books or spending longer hours confined to a cubicle – and you’re going to need some sort  of carry-all to help you transport papers, files, and other necessities during the daily grind. But just because what’s inside your bag is as boring as a Monday morning doesn’t mean the outside has to be. Backpack styles vary as widely as human personalities do. Structured leather packs or cross-body messenger-style bags say “urban warrior,” while sacks in cheerful plaids and colourful prints radiate a fun-loving attitude. Are you a nature lover? A backpack with plenty of functional straps and compartments shows how ready  you are for a weekend excursion into the wild. And if you want your backpack to look like actual wildlife, there are even fur-covered options out there. But, lest you think high fashion is the one area practical packs can’t cover, think again – plenty of famous brands produce ultra-luxe versions to appeal to those possessing champagne taste.
