The pump has been a mainstay of women’s footwear fashions: on skinny high heels, on strong heels, on platforms, on wedges, and newest on low heels. Add to that ankle straps, instep straps, pretty buckles, bows and swirls, and the bar has been raised. This season stores in London and Paris upped the ante further with pumps in colourful suede ranging from bright pinks and teals to soft purples and mauves. And for the faint at heart there was always taupe, grey and black.
