Fringe & Geometry October 11
Colour & Trends, Jewelry
Two very different jewelry design concepts were happily combined into a new one: mixing the hard edges of geometric symbols, squares, circles, diamonds and dimensional pyramids with the softness of fluid chain. Two Paris resources with their own retail stores on the Left Bank, Babylone and Reminiscence, were the perfect example. The same ideas surfaced in Milan as well. Facets were a popular not only in bold stones but also as raised pyramid metal shapes. Chains could be bold but also industrial. Fluid ball bearing chains and panther links were other novel chain treatments, and linear earrings looked best with delicate links in gold, silver or oxidized metal.
